Have you seen them? Sites that promise free traffic to your website? The same sites also promise that if you pay for a membership, you will double, or even triple your traffic. I was gullable enough a while back to sign up for some of this crap. You complete some offers, giving out your email, and some of your precious personal information, and you then qualify for 50 visitors. These visitors are redirected, just like you are, to the site of some other unsuspecting site owner. The sites I was redirected to after completing the offers were sites that I wasn't remotely interested in reading. I left immediately. My visit counted as one of the 50 promised visitors, but it meant nothing.
If people come to my site, I want them to be people who are interested in what I have to say. Likewise, if I visit someone's site or blog, I want to be interested in what they have to say. Otherwise, I am just wasting my time.
Don't fall for that trap. It might sound like the answer to your traffic woes, but it is a load of garbage. The only way to improve your traffic is to:
1. Write good content.
2. Update your content regularly. People who like your work will come back for more.
3. Use good keywords and labels to get you noticed on the search engines.
4. Build a following. Comment on related blogs and websites, not just as a way to leave a link for
people to follow back to your site, but to become known for your thoughts and opinions.
This can't be done overnight. You can't just start a blog one day, and expect to have hundreds of visitors overnight. It takes hard work, a lot of thought and dedication, and the willingness to learn A LOT about your subject matter.
I am learning a lot myself on my road to become THE QUEEN OF BLOGGING INCOME.
Til next time...
